  1. Great last couple of days. We made a visit to Breasas del Bosquas (wings of the forest) a community of 400 families who have lived on vacant government land for the last five years. The gov. has agreed to grant deeds to the land if the community has a school and water. One of our local priest, Padre David, wants to start a church there. The Diocese has a working relationship with an organization in Texas that digs wells for such communities. We met with the community leaders and they were so thankful for just taking the time to meet with them. Most of the families live in one room wooden houses. Sanitation consists of 8' deep holes lined with old tires and a wooden seat. Padre David took us to see his "house" still under construction. He wants to live among the people. He wants to use concrete block for the base, but they cost about 45 cents a piece, so it may be just wood like all the rest. If the community agrees to grant land for the church, we will dig the well. They are excited about the possibilities.
Today we had a meeting of all the area coordinators. There are 6 of us for the entire country. We discussed the needs of the different Deaneries and they are so great. From new roofs to Sunday School Class materials, leadership training to medical clinics. We have fewer short term mission teams coming down than in the past, but the needs continue to grow. Pray for the Diocese of Honduras.
